As you've enjoyed the film E - and haven't already done so, have a read of Letters from Africa 1914-1931 by Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen) published by Weidenfeld and Nicholson for more of an insight to this fascinating woman 8-) 8-) :-* :y
On the strength of your post I've just dug this out again :y

We visited her old house just outside Nairobi some years ago.
Very beautiful place and scenery, I have some photos somewhere and it is a little different to the film inside (it has dark wooden paneling which was deemed to dark for filming)

It is the stunning photography Mark of the beautiful scenery and the wonderful music that features so strongly in the film, along with a truly romantic storyline, that makes me place this film at the top of my list of film drama :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
All starting, after a short preamble, with those immortal words by Blixen (Meryl Streep) "I had a farm in Africa..............." 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I'm quite unashamed to say that on every occasion I watch the scene where Finch-Hatton is interred under that wonderful soil - I weep.
