Only in America.. :) :-* :-*

American engineering is not one of their strong points ;D

On the contrary, they are exceptionally good at engineering killing machines.

I beg to differ:

That was quite an impressive stop 8-) The wing design is quite beautiful (to me at any rate) :-* :-* :y

Perhaps you should acquaint yourself with the Schempp-Hirth Duo Discus. :-*

As recommended by Pierce Brosnan. 8-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTj9oanYRF0
Although I find his method of instruction somewhat unorthodox (and impossible, unless you remove the rear instrument panel and unstrap your 4 point harness :o). ;)

What a graceful machine :-* - I can see why you find the allure of gliding so compelling. 8-) 8-) :y

Only half a decade behind schedule...
2 and a half years behind actually. But that's not unusual for aerospace projects.

Oops, someones torque wrench needs recalibrating? :o
It's sad that someone died testing this 'termination' though :(

:yAhhh...that`s better; my engine failure-o-meter could deal with a motor glider.
I had a fly of Rutan`s Solitaire motorglider (many years ago) and did enjoy it; but, I lacked the soaring skills to make for a long, truly-relaxing 'engine retracted' flight. ;)

blimey thats about as aero dynamic as a brick :) Looks like something my 5 year old would have drawn on a bit of paper with a crayon :)

remind me again, how many million dollars did they put into that-but they couldnt figure out beforehand that the "aloominum "framework wouldnt be strong enough for the 4 (well 4 half) helicopters? Also, is it me, but I thought that the tail blades were essential for stability on helicopters? Main thing is that someone lost their life testing it :(

But how far behind schedule is the Eurofighter?
