Title: Gear Box Oil Change (Cash Paid)
Post by: Road Hog Mad on 16 August 2010, 10:49:48
Following on from my other thread with regards to my gear box oil change.

I am looking at visiting someone who has the correct tools to carry out the said work.

From what me and other forum members have come up with suggest that the oil needs changing (as well as gaskets) and the solenoids.

If anyone is open to do this work please PM me with a price, date, time and can I presume you would have the gaskets and dex 3 oil? pound notes will be paid. I also have a trip computer from a pre-facelift as a nice little gift. :D

Specs...

Omega Facelift, X Reg, 3.0, MV6. 141,000 MILES.

I live in Manchester and don't mind a 150 mile round trip, so 75 miles either way is fine.

Phil.

If solenoids are suspect, worth just popping on a known good 2nd hand box?

There's me thinking they are easy to replace, could just do the oil then?

or maybe more diagnostics are required before I waste my cash.  :'(
