Just been offered MS Office 2010 professional plus for £8.95 through the Microsoft home use program through work.

Remember it - not so well, but it took me ages to get weened off supercalc, I had bought it and self taught myself *what I needed to use" got all the upgrade versions to 5, I did so love that program.

I wouldnt have a clue where to start with it now. :-/

Yeah, I get HUP.  Mrs TheBoy gets the EPP (which MS are pulling in a couple of months) which although more expensive does mean you own it (not the case with HUP)

That is what is still in use at Wolverhampton uni. I wish I had known that before buying 2007 for my Misses in anticipation of her starting her course in a few weeks...

Wow. Haven't seen one of those for a while. .. and it was a long time after that that I had anything that you could program in C.

Rubbish they might have been in those days, but not running office 2007 made them much less susceptible to physical damage, IME. >:(

Just wondering what the first machine I used would have been. Borrowed an Apple II and a LISA soon after they first came out, and I remember being sat in front of some type of DEC machine when my dad occasionally took me into work with him. Probably a PDP11 in those days. I remember great excitement when their VAX 11/750 was delivered. 8-)

I wouldn't mind betting MS has the keys of those that were bought under that agreement (as you have to provide your employer's contract ID), and could easily ensure something is done at the activation servers ;)

Whether they will or not is a different matter...
