Title: Oil change/idle speed?
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 25 August 2010, 11:33:55
I've just returned from Kwik-Fit.....where I had an oil and filter change. Six litres of Mobil semi-synthetic......and a fresh filter for £29.95...not too bad I think.
The manager stated that the idle speed was too low at about 500/550 r.p.m.......he suggested it should be about 850 r.p.m. Does anyone care to comment?. ::) ::) :)

V6 engine idles about 550rpm. 4 cylinder probably a bit higher.

HTH

All my V6's idled at about that speed.

I had a couple of acne scarred neanderthal knuckle draggers perform the task Kevin. I'm not sure if they had seen tools  before.. :)

If you use Vx stuff, with TC, I think it works out a tad under £12 for an oil and filter change :y
