Haven't had such a problem. Where do you normally store your debit card? It could be that an electromagnetic field from a device in your home is erasing/corrupting the data. :-/

Had that recently too, however it was my fault, i work with motors and electrical fields, and the card sometimes wipes itself!!

APPARENTLY, you should never keep credit or debit cards in the same slot in your wallet as other cards either......the mag strip can get corrupted by the other cards strip too.

its not th magnetic strip, its my account number name sort code etc. its not embedded but just like a cheap stamp on a blank card, you can wipe everything off with a damp cloth

Made the mistake of leaving my keys on the induction hob while cooking a few months back. Killed the transponder key I use to get onto the airfield. Luckily it didn't get the Omega's key too. ::)

Its a bit of a pain but a tip I advise my bank customers is stick a bit of sellotape on it, although normally its just the security code on the back.
Also the magnetic strip should be kept away from a large magnet. customer I had put his wallet ontop of his speaker by his bed and could work out why his cards kept failling to be read...

Had my debit card since 10/08 and my credit card since 07/09, both fine. And, yes, I do get them out now and again. ;D
