HM Revenue and Customs could take direct control of every worker’s monthly pay cheque under plans to overhaul the error-prone income tax system.
Instead of employers deducting income tax then paying gross salaries to employees, the gross monthly payment would go to an HMRC-run tax “calculator”, which would then pass the net salary to the worker.
I was going to post the Telegraph link but, I have instead posted a link the very sweary blog here:
http://mreugenides.blogspot.com/2010/09/all-your-paychecks-are-belong-to-us.html
Why the sweary link?
Because that's what the idea deserves. >:(

Yeah this country is going down the pan. What the people and the authorities seem to forget is that the authorities are only there to do what we tell them, to serve us, not the other way round. It is our country, our property, our money, our schools etc etc, we'll do whatever the hell we want. They are trying to assimilate us and turn us into robots.
I think we all need to rebel against authority, the authorities are just there to dot the Is and cross the Ts after the people decide. We know what's best for us, not pompous arrogant, self serving, corrupt, greedy MPs and civil servants.
But this is just one aspect. I think the coalition government (Tory part anyway) is much better than the last set of corrupt arrogant dinosaurs, but, I can't think of one area of governance over the last ten years that has been successful.
We need to reclaim our country from the town hall beaurocrats and the controlling state.
