political correctness,my a*rse, of course its downright racism and sexism. Mind you a mate of mine works for the local council and the stories he tells, he reckons the middle management are like the gay mafia. If you really want to get on you  did have to be a gay man, currently  its a dyke (no offence to lesbians intended) and it will shortly be those "born of a different gender". Leadership qualites / job knowledge/ communication and people skills/ initiative/attitude etc? Nah, sorry. Bloke in a dress?Yeh,come in ,dont worry about your lack of relevant experience or skills, you'll soon pick it up, jobs yours ;D
