Non religous thread, just a comment on claimed performance.
Several times I have heard on TV that the current popemobile can do 160mph.
I believe it weighs 5 tons with all its armour. It must be some powerful engine to propel it at half that speed with its lack of aerodynamics. Maybe it was tested down a very steep hill ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
its not a popemobile, it's a PAPAL carrier! arf arf! ;D
-
The pope insisted that the "catholitic converter" be taken off of it though,,,,,,,,,coat? ;D

It was quite a big job apparently, the mechanics were exhausted when they had finished. :y

160mph I bet he won't have "nun" of that ;D

It's a cardinal rule to have a top speed of 160. ;)
-
160 in the popemobile... Now that has to be a sinful lie...

Have you not heard the 'revelations'? The Pope's 'altar' ego is a racing car driver! 'Hymn' and his co-driver! I can 'testament' to that! He regularly goes to the 'aisle' of Man! It's how he earns his 'daily bread'! It's not 'convent' ional for a Pope though, but it runs in the family, his 'Father and the Son' do aswell! It's just 'habit' now! Even his 'Sister' wants to get in on the 'Act'!

Indeed, an absolutely heavenly effort. :y - some would even say devine, I would defy anyone to feel cross about it. :y
I'm also told by Bill that he goes as far as Sacrament o in California to compete in these races - although he can have the devil of a job at times to get a result - many times going through hell to do so.
If his German cousin, Christian, was present I have no doubt he would say, "You haf no chance of vinning, Eu car ist no good!"
-
they certainly did a nice job turning that merc into the popemobile, I'd say it was an immaculate conversion :y
-
I can see it now, the Pope sat in the back waving to his fans, suddenly there's a threat, he's pinned back into the seat hanging on for dear life, prodding the driver & shouting.
It may have a top speed of 160, but i bet it doesn't do J turns too well, especially with him sat in the back ;D ;D

Indeed they did BJ :y - As a matter of fact a member of the team was heard to say (of a rival), "Well, if Francis can so can we". They wept bitter tears however when, at one crucial point in the build, someone realised that they had misplaced a vital monk ey wrench.
Henry, the eight team member was so annoyed he decided to reform the entire establishment amid much protest ant rancour within the broad church of mechanics.
Whilst it didn't exactly put a spanner in the works a New man was seen bolting around the garage like a nut. Eventually going off to join another team.
