TB popped around today to help a useless student change his front shocks, ta :y
Rears are being an issue being left to soak in WD40, just browsing a tool station mag at the moment, as i need to get a 4-8mm set of spanners really as the wrenchs are no good for this kind of job.
Josh turned up later on needing work done to his, but he kindly lent a hand when we had to get the spring compressors out.
Just nicely stuffed after a nice curry, looking forward to getting the rear shocks on!
-
You ain't thinking spanners for the top of the rear shock are you T?
If so use an adjustable, 6mm are often a bit spindly and tend to snap when you try to undo the top nut.
-
Adjustable isn't playing on tunnies (not a bad example of adjustable either).
Nothing worked on his Dad's one - thats revert to plan B

Yeah, a spanner is useless in that situation tunnie, just done mine yesterday & as the Capt'n said, an adjustable was the only way to go :y

A hex socket works MUCH better if they are the hex topped ones

Nope, we did it around his. So only tools were some old screwdrivers and a big hammer.

Both his and his dads are not hex top, but just the flats.
Might have another go with better tools later in week.
-
Put an adjustable on the top washer and then "break" the nut. Then put the adjustable on the stupid small flat on the top of the shocker. Simples. :y
Oh Plus gas first. :y :y

So I might actualy finaly get my spring compressors back from the short loan......I can then add them to the other set I had to obtain :(

Thanks for the loan, sorry it took so long

It was good to see Tunnie and TB again, although I can't really say I was much help at all. Especially creating extra work for TB with my radio :-[ but the no radio punishment seems to be working, I will etch the four digit radio code into every possible place with a knife so I never forget or lose it again.
Notice much different Tunnie in how the car drives now?

;D does that mean you've cracked the code then (again)?
I had considered replying with Oi! and your last name...as quite a few people want to know your last name...and I know what it is :P
But I fear my post count would dive like many others on here.
