The tv detective series George Gently is back on our screens Sunday evening on BBC1 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
We can again look forward to seeing plenty of 1950/60 era cars, including the lead characters lovely Rover P5 :-* :-* :-* 8-)

Always been a little disappointed in this series given the presence of Martin Shaw, but I'll probably give this a go on Sunday - sometimes these things take a while to bed in.
And the cars are nice to look at.

Yes they really were a big old bus. I only managed the Maxi, which I owned two of & thought they were 'bees knees' at the time ;D :y

On here when I mention an error I am told "well it is only a story Lizzie" :P :P :P
But to me these errors matter, and can take away the illusion of "the story" being real, when the actors are trying so hard to convey that realism ;) ;)

My Regional Director of the Company I worked for had one of those c.1970. It went like a bomb! There didn't seem to be many on the road then either. 8-) 8-)

I had a perm for a while in the early 80's, seemed OK at the time but when I look at some photo's taken at office smokers during that period, I all but keek myself on each and every occasion. ;D ;D ;D
