Title: Anyone here affected by bank acct theft
Post by: Varche on 29 September 2010, 11:18:34
On the BBC news this a.m. there was an infuriating (as ever) item about a gang of about 19 foreign people who had hacked into UK bank accounts and stolen about £6million pounds. They used some form of  Zeus Trojan to get passwords.

So many unanswered questions as ever with this sort of  dangle a titbit of info news item. I might have to watch Euronews tonight to get a fuller picture!

How many accounts were involved.?

One bank or loads?

Name of bank(s) involved?

How many other cyber scamming thefts of a similar magnitude are going on unreported?

At least i don't need to worry as the Varche UK £millions were spent years ago keeping the Omega roadworthy (ish) ;D ;D ;D

A few of my friends have been affected by banking scams. But, hey, they will leave their debit cards on view when I visit. ::)

Well, according to an email ive received from some caring foreign solicitor, ive got 5 million pounds waiting for me due to a relative carking it in a plane crash, isnt it nice that some people are honest enough to let you know about these things & not trying to scam you. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've been done over twice in the past, the first time about £750 went out of my account and left me high and dry when I was working away from home, and then £500 disappeared a few years after that. The bank reimbursed my money very quickly both times though, to their credit  :y
