Blimey. How will "we " manage.
;D ;D ;D
-
Although they are showing all of those, many of them will be amalgamted with other government bodies, so is more a streamlining of the services.... Like everything else at the moment though, it all gets blown out of proportion and made to sound far worse than it really is....
-
Gets my vote, anything with advisory or committee in the title should go as they rarely ever contribute anything of use ;D
Like they always say, get a committee to design a logo and it WILL be grey ;D

Very true, there will be redundancies but not quite the level at which they are hyping up. Departments will be merged and people will be shoved about. There are a few departments I'm surprised are being axed:-
Disability Employment Advisory Committee
Disability Living/Attendance Allowance Advisory Board
Disabled Persons' Transport Advisory Committee
Independent Advisory Group of Sexual Health and HIV
Independent Advisory Group on Teenage Pregnancy
Infrastructure Planning Commission
Olympic Park Legacy Company*
Disabled, my view is they have enough of a rough ride in life and should be left well and truly alone. Teenage pregnancy, we have the highest teenage pregnancy in Europe. There was an article in the paper showing most kids have no idea what an umbilical cord is. Finally, after spending a crazy amount on the Olympics, I would like the decision of what happens to the site being at a higher level than the local authority.

Im sure Vamps posted this yesterday and I posted a reply. :-/
Well, just in case its a deja vu thing or something, I will post it again. - Long may this trend continue. :y
As for the post regarding the disabled - I agree to an extent, as long as its for the genuinely disabled. There are a lot of people who abuse the system on disability in order to use it as a means of topping up their benefits to a level where they can live reasonably comfortably without having to get of their arses and do a days work. ;)

Equally a lot of people , particularly pensioners, need whatever benefits they get in order to be able to exist. Heating costs, transport to shops (taxis as buses don't have the easy access system and drivers can't help person on). Lets hope they aren't axed. These current pensioners are the very folk who lived through WW2 and worked hard all their lives.
-
Agreed but, if those pensioners hadnt had a big lump of their earnings taken from them in taxes during their working lives, they would have been able to save their own money and been better able to provide better for themselves in retirement.
Its a vicious circle really, The circle has got bigger and bigger over the years, there are a few hopeful signs that it is going to get smaller.
There are also anomilies in the money spent on care for the elderly. For example, those who retire to a country with a warm climate still get paid the winter heating allowance, when the point of it is to stop the elderly freezing to death in sub zero temperatures.

Apparently that is a very different List....... ::) ::) ::)
If I remember I will try and get a copy from work tomorrow....

Shame this one is going :'( :'(
