got the escort van full of rubbish ready for a trip to the tip.
nearly died that day after one came out the windscreen vent.
honest, it must have been the size of the one in the video ::)
-
That wasn't a warning it was an invitation to look.... ::)
I hate the blooming things, I knew what was coming and still the laptop nearly went flying.... :D :D :D
-
very good! ;D. A few years back when I worked as a relief manager for a petshop chain I used to collect the shed skins of things like snakes, hoppers and also chilean rose and red knee tarantulas for my lad. Of course, such things shed virtually whole. Anyway, I used to keep them in these little clear plastic containers and I was always leaving them on the dressing table in the hotel room. To say I gave some of their cleaning staff a fright would be an understatement ;D
-
I dont think i should look as i would freak out as i hate spiders ::)

Well the video didn't freak me out (yes, I'm one of those desensitised younguns who've probably seen too much violence on TV ;D ) but if I saw that in my kitchen?
I'd be off to get the shotgun! ;D

Oh boy.. that one made me shiver!
-
me too. and I *like* spiders
-
I like spiders, but i don't tollerate them in my home, I can't be doing with the webs hanging from the ceilling.
I found one walking down the curtain the other night, it now resides in the stores at work ;D ;D It has a long walk back :y :y

I've always hated the bl**dy things. I don't buy this "they keep the flies down" nonsense, either. They just bl**dy sit there, or they run across the floor just out of your line of sight. All the members of my family are trained not to say "Ooh, look at that spider" in case I have a heart attack.
Actually, I'm a lot better these days. I actually managed to capture and dispose of quite a big one last week. Usually I have to resort to using the vacuum cleaner, or just putting a bowl over it and waiting for someone brave to come along and throw it out. I wish I could just kill them, but I can't.
Watched the first 5 seconds of that video, then chickened out. :(
I'm not alone:

Gah.. sitting here with this thread open and what runs across the floor?
Ruddy huge house spider :o wondered where that went earlier - he disappeared before I could get back with the hoover.. and now he's under the sofa.. probably just waiting till he can see my foot and run up my trouser leg..

You'll find that spiders don't like walking on our skin & they'll do their best to avoid doing so.
-
What an eejut standing UNDERNEATH the spider whilst trying to catch it! ;D

Tell that to the one that ran up my arm the other week! ;D I'd come in from the garden and must have had him with me.. sitting there on the sofa I get that 'something is tickling my arm' sensation, only to see a wee garden spider running around on me ;D ;D
Naturally being a manly man I said "Oh look!" and took him outside.. I did not go "argh argh!" and flail my arms around like I was on fire until he went flying across the room... ;D ;D

So you was kind to the little spider, I dont mind money spiders that craw on me because i might get some luck one day ;D
-
;D I don't mind those either.. but in this case, heck no.. I went 'argh' and batted him across the room!
I hate garden spiders - the ones with the brown bodies and really 'spiky' looking legs; they just look so mean. I'd rather the big hairy house spider run over me than one of those :)
I don't mind those spindly tiny dorset spiders either, which is handy since my house appears to be full of them!
-
I dont like the big hairy one's neither and most definitely dont like the daddy long legs now they make bloody run ;D

I've got one of those living on my boat. I go and have a look at it every morning, It's suprising how quickly they grow. It sits in the middle of the web waiting for prey. The other morning I think it must have had a mealtime "blowout" the day before, as it wasn't in the middle of the web it was lying in its little hidy hole under the gunnel having a lie in. On the deck of the boat was the corpse of a rather large blue bottle. 8-)
