Literally - was sitting down with the Mrs having a cuppa & all of a sudden I get this sharp pain in my right knee - I've been stung by a Wasp - the blooming thing has somehow got up my trouser leg. Good job it didn't get any further up! :'(
Goodness knows how it got there? :question
This is the first sting I've had since I was a kid - how long does it hurt for?
-
probably looking for a winter hideout ;D
-
May hurt for a day or two. If any longer, best to get it checked out at your doctors to make sure all is okay, should it be for any longer.
-
How did you get it out without annoying it even more?
-
it happened when i crossed my leg & i squashed it !
it wasn't going anywhere after that
-
oh well at least it went out with a bang!

I'm told vinegar helps, but the guy who told me was a right arse so it might make it worse for all I know. Got stung on the bike a while back, always thought it hurt more as a lad coz I was little, no, still hurts just as bad....not unheard of for some to become allergic to wasp/bee stings as they get older, afaik :(

Some of you may remember last year, i used to torment a nest that was on one of walks with Mutley.
I'd block the hole & do all manner of things, well they must have gotten to know me, because one eve all i did was stop to have a look, one flew out & stung me on the forehead ;D ;D
I hate the things, i'd like to know what purpose they serve :-/ :-/

theres thousands of types of wasp around the world, each one has a natural prey in the insect world, so without wasps we'd be overun by every other bug :y

HATE wasps, why do they keep flying at your face time and time again? The trick is to keep calm and don't swipe 'em, but I don't want one landing on my nose, thank you >:(

I got stung by a wasp, this summer, wasnt annoying it, just taking a piccy, it stung me under the arm...imagine holding a camera....so on the 'tender' part of the arm....painful or what at first...24hrs later i didnt notice it anymore :y
-
My mate had the same thing when a wasp crawled up his trousers,,,it got a bit further than yours and caught him on his dangly bit :D
He went to the doctor and asked for something to take the pain away but leave the swelling ;D ;D ;D

had a wasp fly straight into my face, with visor up whilst doing about 25mph on my M/C in traffic... felt like a little stone chip had wacked my cheekbone until I felt successive stings inside my helmet (with highly amplified buzzing).. nearly lost control of the bike, managed to pull over eventually, threw my lid on the pavement (bad move) lame wasp fell out. Got home with very sore face, looked in mirror & 6x nasty red bumps... then realised I had to replace my lid (£90) no visible damage but once you drop/throw it, no longer safe. never been stung since so hopefully that was my fair share in one go ;D
-
You have to be even more carefull opf them at this time of year....As they are getting very lazy now and more prone to stinging you!!
-
I feel I have been stung................................everytime the lecy, gas, and phone bills come through the post!! :'( :'(
-
Slightly off topic, but after reading about the helmet incident........
When Iwas in college, I was riding alongside another motorcycle trying to ask directions, when as he opened his mouth to tell me, a BEE flew straight in his mouth!!
luckily, he spat it out, and he didn't get stung, but was visibly shaken up by it!!
