She's now been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

She`s clearly a 'poorly' girl..... :'(
......hospital`s the best place for her; but, what a shame her mental-illness came to light via a national paper. :-[

Indeed, Debs. I am not making light of her problems, but of all the MPs to stalk, Eric is not the most likely candidate I would have thought.  ;)

Mind you she has displayed similar behaviour in the past, including towards Jeremy Vine, so maybe she should have received help sooner.

help always comes to late and then they just say mistakes were made and they can learn by it.

came to light via a national paper

Yes, we will indeed reap all that has been sown over the recent past with our unhealthy fascination with all things trivial and an all seeing always 'on' media determined to capitalise on anything that gets them ahead in the ratings/circulation war.

In all fairness, I don't think you can blame the media. The poor girl was in trouble last year:

A woman has appeared in court accused of creating a spoof website and harassing two DJs on Radio Jackie.

Alida O’Reilly, 27, of Earlsfield Road, Wandsworth, appeared in Kingston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 9, accused of harassing DJs Steve Mowbray and Dave Owen.

And were stalkers involved in the murders of John Lennon and Jill Dando?

Yes, she is clearly ill, but there is also clearly a failing in the system somewhere, as Richie points out. Maybe the media coverage will lead to an improvement in care for these people. :y

One would hope so and whilst not necessarily referring to this particular case the media in general seems to have been skewed (in this dumbed down nation) to report matters for the sake of their sensationalist /bizarre content rather than the real news quality of any given piece.

It comes as a result of trying to compete with on-line content and 24hr broadcast 'news' I suppose.
