Why is it that half the time you buy something brand new these days, it's broken when you get it out of the box? I'm sure it wasn't like this 10 years ago.. but maybe that's just the rose tinted specs talking.
Bought a £200 Triton shower a couple of weeks ago and had the plumber fit it as part of redoing the central heading & hot water system and .. it leaks like a ruddy sieve.
Not from any joints he put in, oh no.. the valve leaks out of the valve body and drips constantly, it doesn't turn off properly so it drips out of both shower heads constantly..
And it's a bit hard to take it back for a refund once half the fittings are buried in the wall!
Bah >:( >:(
Ok.. that's the end of my rant.. thanks for listening ;)

ive fitted a few triton and there usually reliable, sometimes the shower hoses ar crap and leak at the showerhead. mine leaked so got a better hose for it.
-
I think you should ring Triton - I bought a thermostatic complete kit off ebay for £70- and it worked a treat to replace same kit at my daughters.
They are a decent company and for certain failures actually come out I think - probably just on the thermostatic cartridges - but worth a try.

I think this chap more than agrees with you A;

Got fed up with electric showers, we going for one like this in our new bathroom project.

With a pump, possibly in the loft.
But yes, an increasing problem, and even harder to get any issues sorted these days.

Oddly it's stopped leaking now.. although I had the cold feed turned off so the pressure was reduced.
Took the remains of the boiler to the tip and found.. a nice big ding in the middle of the passenger door from my next door neighbours kids (slight assumption, but since it's been their 4x4 parked next to me for the last week..) >:( >:( >:(
Having one of those days where I wish I hadn't woken up!

Ok this is getting comical now.. I went into the bathroom to check on the shower, and...
The lamp shade fell off the bathroom light! ;D ;D
Oh well, at least that one made me laugh ;D
-
Me too lol ;D ;D ;D

Did your plumber remove the mixer valve & flush the pipework through to remove any excess flux or pipe debris? There is a better than even chance it is something like this preventing the valve body operating correctly. :y
-
Good question and... I don't know ;) Both of the pipe runs to it are new though, and the new sections of pipe run are poly pipe with push fit fittings..
Oh and there are screens in the two feeds that are supposed to collect debris.
However based on the fact that it's mysteriously stopped leaking.. I can only assume that it was, in fact, some foreign object getting between the seals.. either that or it's just waiting till I turn my back and then it's going to start leaking again ;)

Triton Thermostatic Shower should carry a five year parts or faulty manufacture guarantee even if DIY fitted. They are usually pretty good at honouring it provided you have registered the guarantee. You can register the guarantee online if it's easier. They will even come to you if you are sure it is a shower fault. :y :y :y

( Most ) Triton showers have a two year warranty ,at least in Ireland they do. I try to use them over Mira simply for that fact.
I've had two go faulty in the last eighteen months both with shut off valve problems .I called the distributor and their engineers came and repaired them at no cost to client or myself.
Contact Triton and claim warranty. :y

Bah.. don't say that.. I don't think I could afford a more expensive job - it took a week as it was..
Should have just bought a new build ::)

Yes, sounds to me like a quality (Chinese?) build quality but lousy British workmanship! ::) ::) :D :D :D :D ;)

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that I need to win the lottery.. then I can just pay someone (a lot of) money to take care of the house and cars and never have to look under the hood or inside the walls.. That way I don't have to know whether it's a bodge job or not, just whether or not it works. That or rent a house (this looks nice (http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-15440874.html)) and have cars on PCH.. (still need to win the lottery, though!)
Unfortunately I keep trying.. and the £100+ million never seems to head my way :-/ and I don't have the energy or patience for DIY to know it's done right anymore.

A friend of mine did a couple of weeks ago £2.25m!
