Title: Deb`s Disco Inferno.....
Post by: Debs. on 19 October 2010, 15:24:25
.....passed the MOT this morning (first try) and without any advisories!.....not bad for a `94/`95 model year Landy Disco. ;)

The tester said he gets heartily-sick of cars sent to him for test where the owner hasn`t bothered to check ANYTHING before the appointment.....he said it was nice to see a car that had been properly sorted and prepared; I am delighted! [smiley=engel017.gif]

The MOT chap called it the "chip-fat chariot" and I must admit, there is a quite appetising aroma from burning the DERV/V.O mix. ::)

Now, it`s time to prepare the Miggy for next week`s test appointment. :y

Looks like a LANIROVER to me.. ;D

Which reminds me of the "OVERFINCH" I see every day - I thought it was some silly owner rearranging letters (like people used to do with old Ford Escorts) .. but no.. it's a company selling even more hideously expensive versions of chavved up Range Rovers  ::)

Anyway.. this is definitely a LaniRover ;)

;) I seem to recall Clarkson tested one of those on Top Gear a year or two ago......wasn`t it TWICE the cost of a normal Rangie? :o

I guessed that since there were no prices on their website, they worked on the "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" principle..  ;D

Based not far from me. Occasionally I see them "testing" on the by-pass whereby I normally give them a run for their money. ;D

Didn't he race and beat a Focus of some sort while towing a trailer with another Focus on the trailer?

Do you manage to keep it leak free? brother in law had one and had a horrendous time keeping the drive train from leaking oil over half of cornwall ,got so sick in the end he got rid of it!

Yes about double the price arron, mate of mine bought one a couple of months back and i really don't like it, the front looks like the new disco's and its even less off roadable than the standard one due to being "slammed and having its windows tinted" ;D ;D ;D

The Landy owner`s rule of thumb: "If it`s not leaking; it`s because it`s empty!" ;D

Good news Debs & hope the collie wagon does as well next week. Discos are ok in thier own right, better off road than many so called 4x4's & you get a lot of bang for your buck pricewise but they are not, never will be & should never be called Landies despite sporting the green oval badge any more than the first Metros were badged "Mini metro". Of course they were'nt a Mini & neither is a Disco a Landy..
That said you could pitch up in a Trabant or a hovercraft, given the strange vehicles i throw my hard earned at who am i to judge? :D ;D 8-) :-*

There's a V8 3.9 one that's LPG converted (twin tanks underneath) down at the stables I go too, sounded fantastic when it started up, well the exhaust note did!

Reminded me of my younger days smoking (literally car + driver!) around in an SD1.
