and which in your opinion is better?
(how bored am i?)
I used netscape ages ago, thought it was crap, i'm too used to IE
-
I've tried IE, Firefox and Opera. Opera is the best so far, but IE is still the default browser as the missus says she's used to it!
-
More than happy with Firefox :y
-
IE7 mainly, but I prefer to surf OOF with FireFox due to the built-in speller....
-
Have to say I am happy with nice stable IE6.
IE7 I will continue to avoid until they have finally sorted it out (another 6-9 months is the usual timetable for MS...)
Not keen on Firefox, had a few issues with it and not used it in a year or so.
Opera... I haven't used that in absolutely ages so can't comment.
-
Agreed, IE6 SP1
-
I am more than happy with Firefox. Like the built in spell check (although you have to be careful as it is US).
Very rarely use IE now - just for sites that don't work in Firefox.
Tried IE7 and not too impressed.
-
IE6
-

-
Yep Have to agree IE6 for the PC and the Works Mac Firefox and safari

I use Firefox at home & IE at work.
There is a british dictionary for Firefox & also IE tab for sites that don't work :y

I am using IE6 at work and Safari at home (on a Mac).

For windows, IE reigns king for a number of reasons.
It works, its secure, its fast. More than could be said for its rivals FF and Opera.
Under other OS's, not so clear cut. Safari for Macs. Linux? Who the hell wants to use Linux as a desktop? If you're forced to, firefox is probably only sensible option.
So IE6 for me. IE7 is getting there. IE8 out in beta later this year/early next (MS realised they dropped a clanger with ceasing development after IE6)
-
And our stats show you all love IE, toss up between 6 and 7 though...
-
Thought I didn't like IE7, but have now decided I do.
-
Just checked this month's (so far) stats, and IE6 is a couple % higher than IE7....
Rather predictably, Firefox has a single figure %, Opera has less than 1%.
And the muppet using pre v1.0 of Firefox should be shot ;)

Guilty as charged, no doubt. Probably on one of the Linux boxes I've got kicking around.

Actually, even some Thunderbird and Phoenix (pre firefox) as well....
-
my preference is firefox, never got on with ie6 and whilst ie7 is on the pc, don't use it much.

my preference is firefox
Keep up with Firefox's patching - there have been lots of critical flaws being reported now for some time. Unlike IE, it is not done with Windows Update.
-
Firefox 1.5.011 for me. It has been very stable, no real problem during that time. :)
Used it for a couple of years and the kids are on it now.
IE at work though but I prefer Firefox.

All pre v2 are seriously flawed. Upgrade it!
One of the real problems with Firefox is the 'Linux Symdrome' - its not Windows/IE, and therefore it must be secure. Most Linux distros have now got to grips with security, and patching, but not the application vendors
