Bloody Hell!!!!

What is it with fuel prices - every two days or so, another penny goes on.  It is 93.9 round my way (standard 95 RON).  I think that the price of fuel because of Mr Brown is disgraceful.

It was said that we would all end up paying for the f*ck up with the wrong additives. WE are paying for the new O2 sensors that were knackered >:(

I got robbed for £1.05 per ltr at the weekend. BP Ultimate IIRC. If I'd have noticed the price beforehand it'd have been 95 RON. Luckily it was a quick 20 quid splash and dash in the Westfield not a full Omega tank :o

Also, why do they sell BP Ultimate Diesel? surely if you want the "ultimate" (whatever that is) performance wise you wouldn't have bought a diesel in the first place?

More to the point, why is the pump insignia almost identical to the BP ultimate petrol? Very nearly ended up picking up the wrong one!  >:(

Name a smaller RWD car with similar interior room and performance, and handling which does twice the economy?

Also 1/4 of boot

I didn't buy the MV6 for economy. Hence why I haven't given up the boot and fitted a bloomin great tank in the back.

FWD is horrible and sub 40l Diesels are boring.

I don't like torque steer, pulling steering, wheel spinning when pulling out of side roads.

Don't like the sound car Diesels make - they usually sound horrible. Best sounding is the V16 charge cooled EE lump.

I got vpower for 98.9p last week.
I did see on the local news about a month ago about a garage in Stirling. You pay £100 a year to become a member and then you get your fuel tax free, around 35p/litre. The garage owner drives his own tanker to the refinery pays the bulk price and the duty and does not pass this cost on to the members. I think the membership fee covers his costs adequately. He has an invoice for the fuel stating that the duty has been paid, so what he does with it is up to him.

Stirling is 55 miles from me so would I gain??

110 mile round trip, think you would need to fill a few jerry cans each time to make it worthwhile.

Just bought a weasel :( A 1999 focus, £550 requiring a little work but not much and a ghia as well. But KEEPING the meega too ;D I will miss driving the meega on a daily basis but it will help keep the mileage down and the bank ballance a little healthier. And i am sure after driving the f@#d all week i will appriciate the elite even more :)

Over the past 3 weeks my local Shell punted V-power from 97.9 to 98.9 and now its 99.9 pence a litre.

Got loads of the packs of cards (like Top Trumps) but I still have not won the track day in friggin' Italy.   >:(

Anyone got kids that are collecting the cards??  Got loads to give away if interested....

Most FWD don't suffer torque steer now - equal length driveshafts and all that.  Most modern diesels have performance approaching similar sized petrols, though slightly different driving style required.

BTW, I do not class the Omega diesel as decent or modern!

Still not a FWD fan it just feels wrong, but then I had bikes for years and my last 6 cars were RWD, steering going numb when you put your foot down is odd. Also lift off oversteer scares me, if I drove a FWD hot hatch like I drove the Sunbeam I would have crashed it very quickly! (Brake hard turn in early then power out - in the same method some FWD cars would let go).

Being a little over 40 I have come across RWD a lot more than say a 30 year old, and I suppose this comes into it as well
