I just sold this car on ebay to this chap for £1200. It's not a shed or a resto project, it's a good honest runner but the coiol was replaced & the lead fitment is push in not screw in so it can pop out & the car stops, put it back & away you go but the unsuspecting buyer would'nt know this. The dynamo is about finished, took it out, cleaned it, & it showed a charge but will want doing soon as will the carb & a few other bits. I listed all the faults minor as they are. This is a car that would make a good winter project to sort the rough edges out. Look at his ad & note "just taken in part exchange", was it break! & he's thrown my seat covers away the dick. :o ::)

Lets all ask him about the seat covers then!

1962/C reg?........I always thought that was a 1965 reg.... :y :y :y.....Lovely old car Guy. :y :y :y
-
Worse still... He stands to make a large profit for no work >:( >:(
-
I sold my trusty senator to an 'enthusiast', he then scrapped it the gimp.

Ex military so registered on civvie street a bit later me thinks :-/

I think this is one to be asking questions about;
Where are the seat covers?
What was it taken in px for?
Why is a 1965 car stated to be 1962?
any others? should we? I am happy to.... ;D

I thought they still get a reg plate to the original date though? Just like an import?
-
It is 1962 but was a military staff car from new, decommissioned in 1965 hence the plate. It should have an age related civilian plate like 234 CFJ (my old consul for example). I know we all have to make a living & turn a profit but this bloke is trying to rip some poor punter off so by all means bombard him with questions he'll struggle to answer.
I listed it honestly...he's having a bubble. ::)

good to see auto traders still living up to their unscrupulous names i would bombard him with questions as this rattles my can but he would only ignore them being registered in Austria
-
come on guys whats the proplem.
it was sold for a price the seller was happy with[else it wouldnt have been sold],now someone else has it and if he can make a profit on it fair play to him.
he has used a bit of salesman ship[okay hes lied about where he got it] but when you buying it doesnt really matter where he got it from as long as its legal.
-
Annoying for you...
If you want to make life awkward for the seller report him to ebay for a dishonest listing, they might or might not take an interest.
Otherwise yes could bombard him with questions, the easy option for him is to just ignore them but worth a try.
Bottom line is he will probably get away with this.....

ive just asked him where the seat covers are and why is he a lying bellend dont suppose i will get an answer :D

totally agree - if you didn't want to sell it for £1200, you should have held out for more....nice car - but let it go bud....she's gone now ;)

Steady on folks. Did i say i was moaning about £1200? NO. That was my reserve, more would've been nice but he paid & collected as arranged. I've left him feedback God some of you are like being married!!! I should have made my point clearer.

Look at my description & then his. Some poor so & so may shell out more than it's worth if they are new to the classic car world. I don't feel ripped off but he does'nt care who he rips off.
Guess this is why i'm not a car dealer!!! ::)
