My central heating is down the pan, being fixed tommorow. Keeping warm downstairs with the electric fire & a gas ring on in the kitchen. I sleep all year round with bedroom windows open & curtains drawn anyway.
The only problem is showering. I usually run the shower for 5 minutes to warm up then dash in & out. Tried it today & the shower dribbled & the low pressure light came on so it was a kettle of hot water & a strip wash in an icy bathroom. Ouch!

I feel for you Guy... Pity you're not a bit nearer or you could've had our spare room :y
Mind you... Might have been a bit too warm here as the wood burner has been going all day :o ::)

my kids are 21 & 22 and recently in conversation we mention when Jack Frost had visited when we were both kids. We were both met by blank looks & were gobsmacked when we told them that it wasn't unusual to get frost patterns on the inside of our single glazed windows. ;D ;D ;D
And I had a toilet at the end of the yard, no bathroom.
The youth of today!
