What's the problem, I was doing 120 this morning .....

Kilometers per hour, that is.

The M3 was, however, dry and clear of snow/slush/ice etc - as was the M25, although that had a 60 limit posted. It did amuse me how many people wanted to fly around the (50-limited) slip road at >50 and then thought better of it when they realised the 'outside' lane was less than clear..

Still 75 miles per hour then Aaron! ::) ::) ::)

However, I remember going everywhere at very high speed on business, and when the road was very clear, at extremely high speeds!! ::) ::) ::)

I am ashamed to say though that once in the late 1980s I broke all my own rules for high speed driving, especially in bad weather conditions :-[ :-[ :-[   The snow was thick all round, but most of the M4 from Bristol to London (Woking) was relatively clear with two lanes open, but I was late leaving Bristol for a meeting in Woking; did the whole journey in just over 1 hour; i.e. the average speed came out at about 110 mph!  It was absolute lunacy >:( >:(, but I got away with it amazingly!  .........and no I was still 10 minutes late for the meeting..............but I was one of the fiirst to get there!!  Taught me a lesson or two!! ::)

~74mph, yep.. but as I say - clear, no snow, no ice and no water, and plenty of grip on the cleared roads (I gave that a good test on the Bagshot road down to the M3) :)

I was far from the fastest thing on the motorway, mind.. plenty of white vans going past me in the outside lane  :D

Why jump out of a moving car?? You run the risk of running yourself over and a wet arse  ;D

Much safer sitting in the car  :y

Better late in this world, than early in the next.  There's no prize for being 1st passed the Pearly Gates finish line. :y

Very true.. and believe me, I drive to the conditions :) Cruised home down the back roads tonight and didn't spin the wheels or slip braking once; not even when two pillocks decided that indicating on a roundabout (to give me some hint that you're going to swing across in front of me!) was not necessary.. (One was driving a BMW so that's no great surprise, I suppose..)

[edit] Actually that's a lie, when I got to my road I did have a little play to see just how much grip there was for the Go pedal. Quite a lot, actually, on the still snowy road here.
