Title: Cambelt Change DVD
Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 21 August 2006, 22:24:56
Coming to a cinema near you!

Well, a big thanks to Robin Hood who did a great job of filming and editing the DVD.

This is available from Robin Hood at a price of £3.00 delivered which I think is an absolute bargain, it stars my good self with guest appearances from Laidback66 and the voice of MrMcburger and runs through the full fitting and timing process.

Now with added bonus sequences:

I have moved a post to the maintenace guides area for future reference.

Just recieved a copy of the DVD in this mornings post.  Don't need to do a cam belt change just yet, thought it would be a useful piece of kit for the "Toolbox".

It's a brilliant DVD, would reccomend it to anyone who hasn't done a belt change, very easy to follow, £3!!  when you can save hundreds of ££££, money well spent I say.

Well done all involved  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I to recieved my copy from Mr Robin Hood and confirm that it makes very interesting viewing, and completely dispells the fear of tackling this job. Top marks (pun there) to all who participated in this venture. Video could be the end of the haynes manual, as there is far more visual info on the video than in the book.

I will be takling my cambelt and water pump this weekend complete with laptop and video.

Although yours is a facelift and a 2.2, if you was to get a haynes following that is pretty helpful, although when you look at it, its kind of obvious what needs to be done.

Just follow the guide for doing a 2.0

Good Luck with it though.

If that was one with a printed face then PM me your address and Ill send a replacement.  Shouldn't actually happen as I'm using G05 dye discs and burning at 2X - have you tried it in a different player.

Perhaps he could do it for you if you asked him, you never know.

May mean travelling up but atleast you will see 'The Master' in action.

Yeah, tried it in Pioneer DVD recorder, the MCE, my laptop and my PC. Locked up at same point everytime. Can't remember what disc it was.

I think Mark was knocking me off another copy :)

Still happy to do it for you but, struggling to get the time at the moment.

I am away (Weymouth) next week and then on the Chezk Wrecks rally with Laidback66 after, can do it in mid September once I have got everything back to 'normal'

Ordered the DVD anyway, just because it's great fun to watch other people work, form the comfi of your sofa!  ;D

Got mine (thanks Robin Hood, did you get my payment?), very well done, both the actual work and the filming.

I did however, ahhmmm, spot a very very minor safety issue, not sure if it is even worth raising  :-X because it will seem like nit-picking, especially since the most daring thing I ever did on my meega was to change the spark plugs (and even so I was too lazy to actually move the How2 from the 'other' site to here..), but I might just drop a confidential PM to the party invoved....  :-[
