Title: i found it last night.

concorde, sitting at the back of the hangers at heathrow rotting away on the tarmac.what is up with BA. do they not care about anything  :(

Their only concern with Concorde was making sure nobody else would ever fly one again. Hence in giving them away, only applicants who could provide a particularly corrosive atmosphere, or who required the wings to be cut off with a gas axe and then bolted back on with meccano, were given consideration. >:(

this plane is an icon, it should not be left in this way. i just spotted the tail behind the bushes as i went past in a cab. they should put it back on the grass by the runway so it can be viewed or put in a museum to be looked after.

i passed it other day in the car, actually, rumour has it they moved it there as thats where their maintenance hangers are. Believe its the one in the best condition, BA refused to confirm if they are planning to get it airborne for the Olympics

i'm thinking of hiring it for my 50th birthday party. just hope it will be ok on 20 quids worth of unleaded  ;D ;D

I'm afraid the blame lies with the French here Kevin, specifically the manufacturers/suppliers. BA Concorde division was making money at the end, but the French couldn't make it pay, hence the decision to cut off support. :y
