Just heard on the news that a British team have broken their own land speed record for a diesel car. An average of 330mph on Bonneville Flats. Swell up with pride you oil-burner owners. :)
-
Yes....it h two JCB engines in it......apparantly you can now see the track thanks to the smoke finaly clearing ;)
The driver/pilot said it was difficult to drive with the 37 speed gearbox which was required to keep the power plant on the boil. ;D

I doubt ne 1 will beat that record
-
It said British team so guess the driver must have been Irish
-
350.a little mph max of 365
Andy Green is British and in the RAF.
Last fast car was Thrust SSC - so I think he classes as a hero.
Shall we nominate him for awards next year!
-
Fantastic effort considering the return run was made with a 1/2 ton bucket on the front!

Well guys, i'm not very impressed, actually i'm not at all, because this JCB thing has been really expensive wiht those super booper ricardo developed engines, while in the same time some random tuner that made a similar project probably in his back garden called the streamliner with just an old 2valve mechanical Cummins5.9 lite B series managed last week to do 308mph. I can ensure you that made JCB to sweat a lot.

The digger makers are to release a special edition to celebrate-a JCBGT ;D

Lol, I remember when they brought out the 45 mph tractors, I know a couple of farmers who put them in ditches because they didn't go round corners.....

On the way home from the 'Farmers Arms', possibly? ;D

Firstly the JCB was not even in top gear nor flat out.
Secondly there is a big difference between 308mph and 365mph

I bet that RMB was considering buying Andy Green's diesel JCB for use as a runabout, but gave up on the idea due the the fuel consumption figures...
