I usually put £30 worth of petrol in my omega at a time and was just wondering how many miles (very roughly) other people get out of this amount of petrol (approx 32 litres at current prices).
I do mostly short runs with quite a lot of stopping and starting in between so i realise this will obliterate my MPG figures but it just seems like my mileage is getting worse lately.
A guy I work with drives a 2.5 V6 ford probe and although I realise his probe is lighter than my omega he seems to get way more miles out of 30 quid than I do.
I've got a 96 2.5 V6 GLS omega, I drive it very conservatively most of the time and air filter, plugs, oil etc etc were all renewed a few weeks back.

I would consider posting this in general chat, not the help section :)
Your 2.5 should be doing mid-early twenties locally, and early-late thirties on a careful run
If it's auto, it kills fuel consumption on short runs
My 3.0 V6 Elite , does 200 miles to £30 on a good run, dropping to 150 - miles locally...
-
I don't have a clue, I just put fuel in when it needs it.....
-
I have a 2.5 v6 auto est i only get about 23 around town and on a run 35.
-
My 2.5 also gets about 23 around town and low 30's motorway driving. Have had high 30's once with constant 70 on motorway with cruise set.
Cheap motoring but very boring.

Getting average of 30 mpg few trips into what classes as the local town, ;D (not much traffic up here in Fife) with an average of 43 mpg longish runs i.e. 325 mile at average speed 60 mph stuck in traffic around Metro centre Newcastle and motorway driving. :o
In the end it depends on type of driving and traffic though having an auto does not help the situ. And before the posts start i do not hold up others while driving. :-[

I get about 350m out of a tank in my 3.0l MV6 auto, and normally put in around 65l. So I guess around 175m out of 32l.
That includes town and A roads. On longer runs I obviously get more...
-
It would be 300 miles commuting and short runs but that would be on gas
-
Simple answer....... NOT ENOUGH ::)
-
I know mine is a 2 litre on gas but if i drive nicely at 60 to 70 on the motorway ill get 450 miles on 30 quids worth of gas
around town ill get about 300 miles or more for 30 quid

In the tractor, I will do 0 miles on £30 of diesel. Coz its boogered.
-
Ive just put £31.56 in my wifes Rover disesal, £7.56 chip fat and £24.00 diesel and should get about 500 miles :)
-
I suppose those figures don't seem too different to what i'm getting. It's a manual not auto.
Suppose i'll just have to get used to feeling mugged everytime i fill up :(
-
About 350-400 miles, depending on driving style. But it's dual-fuel and manual ;)
In my BMW, about 130 miles :O which is one of the reasons why I have the Omega 8-)
