Title: Natwest banking question

Does anyone know how long it would take a cheque to clear from one Natwest account to another?

I've always believed it to be five working days.

I must add that i don't bank with them, but when my x girlfriend wrote me a few cheques out in the past, they took five working days. We're with Barclays.

Im asking because I get paid by cheque and have to wait a week for it to clear and wondered if i had a Natwest account (as my employer does) would it clear any sooner.

cheques take 7 working days to clear. between accounts at the same bank between 3-5 days. :y
