Yeah, I'd rather waste money in tax going to our failing state than drive anything less.

i think i can live with that and pay less for fuel insurance and road tax :y

I can't really get a cheaper quote than what I pay for my Elite, only by 40 quid or so, and that's for a crappy old 1.2

ouch my insurance went right down with the mg im with the aa and they are normally pretty good
-
Yeah i don't mind, it's a nice car, and you pay for what you want! Boh selecta
-
I try (it's not easy) to ignore all the fuel price hikes but try to fill up at supermarkets. If i watched every forecourt price i think i'd cry.
Head happily in sand & the growl makes it all worthwhile! 8-)

No matter what we drive, we are all in the same boat. I'm currently averaging 19.2MPG.
If I wanted an economical car, I'd have bought something completely different.
Most of us on the forum own a V6....... we are unable to say the word economy, let alone wish for it. :y
-
From my latest tank (25 miles in) I'm averaging 15 ish!
-
i get over 800 miles out of a full tank in my french shitbox :y

I personally think its digusting! Used to run Capris and a tenner would let me run about for the day, twenty if I was "using" it, lol. In the last two days running about the doors in the Omega, £45! I only use V Power in the bike, £22 to fill a three gallon tank! £11 to £13 to fill it a year ago!I drive a lorry for a living so thank god I dont have to pay to fill it! 300l to top up tank on lorry, £410!!!! Consider this, If I get a full load i.e. just under 44 tons, take this load from Glasgow to Sittingboune, the lorry uses that 300l, so theres £410 taken away from my gaffer to pay for that diesel, he has to then pay me for doing that run, then he has payments to make for the lorry from the earnings of that run and all the taxes he incurs and running costs all added together he can be looking at a bill that will be at minimum £550 and what does he get paid for this run? £468! At this time last year he was making money on a run like this but not now because of the fuel prices. very soon lots of hauliers will be out of the business because of this, the life blood of the country! The governments greed is despicable! Im not advocating this and this is purely my view but we need to make a stand before this country collapses!

All that was said before over the years, but actually what happens is the weak and inefficient hauliers may go out of business, but others will take over their trade and simply pass on their extra costs to us, through their customers to the consumer.
As for the "country collasping", no it will not, as like almost every other country we are all in the same situation, with costs on a par with each other, and the consumers paying. The Government will receive the tax as normal and spread that out over their liabilities, so maintaining viability. ;) ;)
