Post by: Omega_on_fire on 25 January 2011, 08:26:24
Hi All.

Just wondered if anyone had come across this one before and know anything about it, like if its a pile of s**t  ;D.  Its a Y reg 2.6 MV6 in green.

You could have my CDx for less than that.

I don't know it but 8 previous owners have.  That would worry me a bit.

Anyway it's sold according to the listing.  Did you get it?

The 8 previous owners doesn't worry me really, as in the past I've picked up cars for people and had to sign the V5 document for the seller (so another owner added) then when the new V5 comes through transfer it to the person I fetched the car for.  The burnt up Omega had a change of owner twice in two weeks  :).

Yes, won it, travel to pick it up on saturday.  But will walk away if the car doesn't match what he has said about it.

Main criteria for me was cambelt/tensioners/water pump done, two keys, decent tyres all round, serviced, etc.  Done want extra expense on top of it as £1250 all I have to play with at this time.  He's provided me with photos of the receipts for cambelt.

Yes, I now have to many cars and have had the Omega for 9 years.

I need to give it a good service (although its had cambelt, water pump, front polybushes, antifreeze and oil changes with fully synth every 5K since we bought it with 12K on the clock) and a good clean.

 :y Cheers Russ

According to the HPi report, its only in the last 2 years that its been passed around alot.  Previous Keeper was a garage, reckon a trade-in.  Lots of plate changes for Private reg's which gives me an indication of change of owners.

Had four keepers in the last 2 years, one a garage.  Not entirely unexpected as the recession has been in place for those two years - who wants a big, 'relatively' thirsty beast in economic hardship.

Sorry, I'm sad - I like to analyse things  :-[

Yes, not advertised yet as I have not cleaned it for pics plus I want to go over it well mechanicaly to.

About 80ish K miles, 4 nearly new Kumho KU31 tyres (6-8mm), colour satnav and well serviced etc. manual 2.5 CDx on a Y (about the last 2.5 made)

Needs an MOT in a few months and has a few months of tax (end of May I think).

Dark green in colour.

Got a little rust around the wheel arches and a few scratches and knocks.
