Sorry, these are very late, I promised these a long time ago.
You learn something new everyday. On Christmas day last year I learn that Hawaii had a railway system. It was used for the plantations to move the sugar cane into Waikiki to be processed and shipped out. LZ and DTM will enjoy these:

A lot of you will know the 'Shaka' sign which is used a lot in Hawaii and surfer culture. A little known fact is that it comes from a sugar cane worker who lost 3 of his fingers on his right hand and was then employed to work as a guard on the train. The local kids would steal the odd cane and chew on it. He used to wave with his right hand with just his thumb and pinky and the kids copied him. The surfers noticed the kids doing this and adopted the gesture. Even my wife's family who live over there had no idea about that!
Mr O was in town, sadly he had not ime to see me. In fact he said stop calling me you wierdo but I put that down to stress ;D
While driving through one of the Air Force Bases I passed this:

Even though I was on holiday the daily exercise had to continue to I found a local swimming pool/lagoon in Ko'olina and did an hour or so of swimming back and forth each morning, occasionally distracted by the fish.

While we were there they were in the process of filming the 5th (of 6 planned) Pirates of the Caribean and this little lady was moored up in the local harbour:

She is a fake tall ship and has a huge diesel engine as the sails dont work properly. Suprisingly small when you see her for real. You have to love the detail of the workmanship though:

i used to live on Hawaii, working as security on a large estate owned by a crime writer. He used to lend me his Ferrari and i drove about solving crimes with the help of my 'Nam vet buddies.
No, wait, that was Magnum ;)
