Just had to renew my insurance. its gone up £100 from last year :o Now paying £600 :'( No changes no claims and another year under the belt.
Interested to see what others are paying and if theirs have gone up too?

I pay around £650 for all 3 cars. The MV6 and the Rover are just under £200, and the Elite is just under £250

Try getting a good deal on your insurance if you are in the army :'(

3 years ago on a 7 year old 3.0 facelift elite i paid £600, age 27, 2 years no claims, and one accident
today on a 7 year old facelift 2.6 mv6 age almost 30, 4 years no claims, no accidents on file, my current insurer wants £1200, upon renewal when i am actually 30 and its 5 years no claims, i'll be lucky to find a quote under £900
my modified bora costs me £270!

Ive just changed cars from the tractor to a disco both cars 2.5 td disco is a 4 pot and £56 cheaper :-?£252.00 all in with aviva(fully comp, protected no claims,£100 excess)

Admiral multicar for 2x 3.0 Elites just under £1500, max bonus, no points, wrong side of 45 & full comp. Could be worse, i tried one of these compare sites & one company was gonna charge £4006 for a 99 Elite. At least Dick Turpin had a mask :'(

I'm seriously considering going back onto a Trade policy when my next renewal comes up... I reckon it may come in cheaper for SWMBO and I combined and would be very handy for the odd occasion I do work on other people's cars

£260 for me fully comp but with a healthy few years ncb .....and I'm old. Interestingly, I enquired last year whether taking "er indoors" off my policy would make any difference - she never drives the mig anyway - the premium would have gone up by £100 so I left her as a named driver.
-
As part of a Multicar with Admiral my mig 3.2 is £180. However, I am sure I will not be feeling too smug anymore in about 3 weeks time when I get my renewal through eventhough we have made no claims and no change in basis of cover.

I found that to take swmbo off the insurance the policy goes up, Talk about descrimination surely two drivers must be a higher risk, ??? :-[

nope ... two drivers may indicate a stable relationship, so less risk than a single person. Also, if the second person is a low risk person, and the other a medium risk person .. the average risk is slightly lowered.
Insurance is all about "assessing risk" .. what you, as a customer, have to do is prove that you are less of a risk.
Occupation, Address, relationship, history, vehicle type, number of vehicles... each, and other factors, all play a little part in the "picture" of risk you present.
