"Why did you buy one of those, it's not the sort of car I'd expect you to buy?"
How often have we heard this?
How do you explain the value for money and the quality?
My boss wondered why I like Omegas when I get them for around half the value of his cars at their age. Also thought I would want something sportier.
Well I have three children and a house ect, can't afford a real quick car, so make do with a pretty quick 2.6 - people who know my car history know what happened to my last car.
Well for what we pay what else is there as good?
It seems we are expected to be happy with a mid range family hatch (eg Vectra or Wednesdeo). Or aspire to a BMW or Audi.
All food for thought!

One of our clients circulated an email yesterday, he has a 2001 BMW 325 SE for sale with 150k miles, and wants £8,500 for it. This is why we buy Omegas and laugh all the way to the bank. I wouldn't buy a 325 even if it was the same money as my 2.6 (which, incidentally, only did 40k...), let alone for more than double the price???

Never had this -
Did however have someone the other day double take at the back of the MV6 ( admiringly) and say v6 ? 3 litre ? didnt know they did one of those - must fly!!!
:)

Always had a soft spot for Audi - doesn't quite have the same 'sales rep' image of BMW. Never liked Mercs. I've always found Audis to be well built, and decent anti corrosion. Dealers let Audi down by thinking they can charge top premium.

Funnily enough I get asked this quite alot and its mainly because I am a youngster well 23, I get asked whats the appeal and how do you cope with such a big car.
I just say to them alot of the time, the size its not a problem and it handles like a big pussy cat with some bite when I need it. ;D

Well my answer to questions like that goes as that:
1. because it is prettier than the merc the audi and the beemer equivalent.
2. because it is fast enough, well balanced and handles like a dream.
3 because i can outpace the boyracers on the twisties
4. because i can fit 4 people and all their luggage.
5. because i know how to maintain it.
6. because it requires very minor upgrades to make it very sporty.
7. because it has 0.28 drag coefficient.
8. because my friends when they get in it always love it even though they wind me up saying that it is a grandads car.
9. because it is more rare than a ferrari in my homeland.
10. because it is economic.
11. because when it came out it it had technological features that were starship years ahead of the competition.
12. It is not cheap it takes a lot of time money and effort to maintain it as every other car.
