........ was just playing online. i was all in with quad 6's.
got called with and beat with quad queens. >:( >:( >:(
how often does that happen!!!
-
I play every few weeks with the boys. Only £10 buy in and winner takes all. good fun and im ok (ish) at it ;)
-
i bloody love home games.
me and my mates play once a month.
£20 buy in and top 2 get paid.
even though you play less hands i much prefer it to online ;)
-
I play a bit of texas hold em only for fun or with friends for a small pot.
We did a charity game for my nephew to raise funds to pay for a special helmet.
As regards the 6 quads its possible and really annoying when it happens
-
yep, its defo my worst bad beat ever! im over it now though. was only for $3 luckily. ;D ;D
-
Yeah home games and online a bit when I get time.
Worst beat I ever had was this weekend just gone.
JJ (me) vs AK (him)
Flop: J 6 6 (I went all in - he called)
Turn: A
River: A
Biggest win: $3900 in an online tournament 12 months ago. So much luck involved, but a good return on investment for $22 :D
-
eddi that is harsh!!!! :( but that was an idiot call by your opponent. thats what you call married to a hand!!!!!
but hey thats a massive win. ive won $450 online once but that was when i got a bit too absorbed in it (at least 3 hours a night every night) so had to cut back.
just a game or two a night for me now ;)
-
Son plays it full time, 75+ hours per week. ::)
I know nothing about it, find it tedious tbh. ;)
-
full time??? wow. 75 hours per week :o :o :o
is he now loaded or just breaking in to the pro scene?
-
Well, he hasnt offered to buy me an Aston Martin yet, so....... ;) :D
-
well obviously you dont want an AM when you have an omega?! ;D ;D
-
When I was at Uni and between jobs I had a go at trying to make a living as such off of it and not only is it obviously hard to do so, but it is so tedious and very unsociable. And getting used to days/weeks/even months where you are on a losing streak and can't even get above even...is very hard.
A lot of 'professionals' have a big tournament win at some point allowing them to have a decent bankroll and live off of the winnings for a while. But even the pros often only play 3-4 hours a day max, which is equivalent to about 12 hours of live poker as you get to play/see so many more hands, and if you're playing say 3 or 4 tables at once, then it's like 36 hours of live poker played in that time :D
