any Fulham fans on OOF? I'm really really sorry but come on....... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
what the hell is Al Fayed thinking? Its hideous, tacky, bizarre, pointless ;D ;D
theres only one F in Fulham, indeed ;D
-
Maybe the goal celebrations should now include 'crotch-grabbing' and 'moon-walking' backwards. ::)
"Ooh cha`mon, Mr. Al Fayed!" ;D
-
does seem a bit odd - big Fulham fan was he? Wacko? :-? ;D
-
Grotesque vulgarity in works of 'art' remains unchanged - irrespective whosoever commissions them.(http://planetsmilies.net/vomit-smiley-31.gif) (http://planetsmilies.net)

Nice to see fellow Fulham fans on here!
Having seen the statue at last yesterday i have to say it was even worse than i imagined; so tacky and cheap looking, how much did Uncle Mo pay to have it made?
It is out of place but then Mo is the owner, he can do what he likes. I suspect it will quietly be moved in the summer.
;)

They're putting one of Jim Bowen outside the emirates. As fans walk past it's going to say 'Oooooo, look what you could have won.'

;D ;D ;D considering the 'quality' of the prizes many contestants could have been forgiven for thinking 'thank opps for that'.
-
It is done for the children ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D
-
No idea what Jackson has got to do with Fulham! Why not have a statue of the Beatles? ::) ::) ::) Well, they are more connected to Fulham than Jackson will ever be! :D :D ;)
-
i dread to think the abuse that statue will get over the coming weeks and months :o ;D ;D
-
Its very fitting.
[olist]- It looks out of place
- Has a plastic appearance
- Wont weather well with age
[/olist]
Perfect really!
-
Did Bobby Moore play for Fulham at one time?

Did Bobby Moore play for Fulham at one time?
Yes, but he's more West Ham - but I agree - if you're going to have a statue, at least make it relevant for generations of fans....although having seen the MJ effort I'd guess all ex Fulham players will feel they've dodged a bullet ;D
-
yes, Bobbys turning in his grave right now!
:(

As a 30 year season ticket holder at Fulham i got to see the statue yesterday.
Whilst i do not think that it is worthy of being sited in the most beautiful football ground in the country we
have to remember that it is owned by Mo and he has the right to put it where he likes.
It was originally to be located at Harrods but when he sold it it had to go somewhere else.
As long as he keeps pushing money into the club, carry on mate.
Please just dont put Bubbles there as well that would be too much tto handle.
But , if it had to go there why is it such poor quality? :o

I think 'mo' had had one toke to many on the old bubbley jars!
-
;D ;D ;D
-
If the statue had it's foot on a ball or heading a footy it probably would not have been so bad ::)
-
Michael Jackson rules!
-
truly awful statue but then totally the sort of thing he goes in for. Certainly proves that no amount of money can bring you taste ;D . Read recently that the club are preventing people from seeing it now after all the..well, rather "negative" publicity.
-
each to their own
-
Wasnt michael jackson that singer who used to be black and liked playing with children ?
fayed is a grade A tosser.
-
Lioned, as much as i dislike the statue of MJ, you are out of order calling Alfayed a tosser, i dont think that you have ever met the man, so please keep that rude opinion to yourself.
I have met the man several times in my dealings with him and the board of directors regarding matters between the club and the fans and have always found him to be polite and willing to help where he can.
Utter tosser he is not, many things he is, but not a tosser.
By the way MJ was never convicted of any crimes against children and theirfor be careful of posting any such accusations on a public forum.
::)

To be fair,Fulham football club will be around a lot longer than al fayed and any 'chairman' who tells his own fans to "go to hell" is a tosser in my book.
"chairman Mohamed Al Fayed has told fans they can "go to hell" - or Chelsea - if they do not appreciate the new Michael Jackson statue at Craven Cottage."
The bloke would get lynched at some other clubs i can think of.
And as far as michael jackson is concerned.Any bloke who dangles a baby over a third floor balcony is a complete nutjob.
-
Mo,s comments about fans can go to hell or chel###
are to several dubious cyber warriors who i doubt are fulham fans, who spout their crap on the clubs web site, and are generally ignored.
You are correct the club will be around a lot longer than him, and MJ was a bit strangeto say the least, but remember he never grew up mentally as well.
Still this is yesterdays news and will all be forgotten next week.
Chips anyone? :y

Well said!
And there is no denying it, MJ is one of the best artists of all time. Never met Al Fayed, seems ok though. I think there are alot of jealous people who have ill intent for him.
-
i hear manchester city are to erect a statue of stefan dennis outside their ground next week hahaha!
-
Well, they are more connected to Fulham than Jackson will ever be!
how do you mean liz? at least jacko actually attended some fulham match(es), even if the claim that "he loved fulham and he wanted to attend all of the matches” is a bit far fetched.
couldn't put a beatles statue up, macca is an everton fan iirc, not sure he or fulham fans would have been very happy about that... and arent the beatles from liverpool and not fulham? or am i missing something?
-
oh, and subject matter aside, it's a crap quality statue.
"It's a spectacularly bad piece of kitsch that doesn't even look all that much like Michael Jackson."
art critics deliver their verdict:

couln't have put it better myself :y :y
to be honest though, i'd have thought michael jackson would have been better off been a west ham fan :y
then he could sing " i'm forever blowing bubbles " with the rest ;) ;)
