I was supposed to be in Clitheroe for 7am. Overslept & got there just after the 8 & 9am tips (our blokes) so they got tipped first. I did'nt get away til 1pm, which gave our transport office headaches to say the least & i got a right royal roasting. Thinking i was off home on a sunny afternoon i was told to lift 2 empty 20ft boxes on my skelly, one to offhire at Thurrock tomorrow & the other to reload at Southall & i must be back tomorrow hence parked up on the A1 @ Peterborough now.
Hotel Volvo again!!! ::)

I let them think so Paul. I'm actually quite happy in the old gobstopper, bit like being out in the caravan. I get to drive about down south then only have friday to go.

Guy - as you spend so much time on the A1, have you any idea what the interesting loads are that I've seen heading north recently.
I use the A1 between the A14 & Newark several times a week.
Over the last month I've noticed artics which seem to be carrying sinle architectural pillars. They are contained in specially built red metal frames. They look like Victorian era bridge supports & look like they are steel or cast iron.
I've never seen them going south - only north.
Anyone else noticed them?
