Have a party planed for next week and got thinking about music for it. I have loads of CD's but dont like all the tracks so thought the best option might be to dump them on the computer as MP3's
Whats is the best program/utility for doing this, Is it free? Will it keep the artist and track info?
Nothing dodgy I own all the originall CD's, all I want to do is simplify the music playing for a whole night.
TIA. :y

Windows Media Player does all you ask :y
Check the 'rip' tab

Make sure you up the bitrate before you rip, 128kbps will show it's limitations even on the cheap stereo's.

iTunes does do ripping fairly well :y

Exact Audio Copy (EAC) http://www.exactaudiocopy.de, in my opinion.
It's so good I keep a Windows VM to run it in. ;D
Then again, if it's just going to be for a party, and if you're going to encumber it with MP3 compression anyway, use whatever you find quickest and easiest.

I'm quite happy to set you up with an FTP account to my NAS box if you want to PM me, I'm sure you'll find every track you need for the party in FLAC format ;)
PS
I have 5Mbit upload, so it won't take too much of your time when downloading from me if you wish to accept the offer.

Locking as this has moved onto illegal file sharing.
