-
I've got an ex-plod mobile!! Although i'm quite jelous you have a facelift >:( ;D I love mine to bits though, hence why i'm bothering to repair her headgasket failure! Tbh, the ex-plod one's are great - How can you go wrong with paying next to nothing for a RWD 3.0 V6 manual luxo-barge??
-
Exactly m8 dont b jelous about my facelift ;D the pre-facelift are still luvly motors
-
Certainly are :) Tbh, i like the exterior of the facelift but i much prefer the pre-facelift interior....Got any pics of yours? I would get pics of mine to put up here but she's looking quite sorry for herself atm :'(
-
Yes m8 i'll be putting them on the gallery soon ;) i agree with u on some of the interior bits some facelifts can look very bland on interior i took my standard black stuff out and put walnut in :D
-
No police near mine - except when trying to catch it :D v reg 2000 3.0 MV6 pre facelift non plod
-
Yea mine is very fast not gloating or nothin but it's been chipped by the police and it really does shift :)
-
Mines a fairly standard, non plod, 1998 MV6.
-
TB does it have standard alloys on the MV6 1's they look real nice
-
Yup, standard prefacelift MV6 wheels...
-
Lovely lookin motor then :o what colour is it silver 1 in pic?
-
Thats the one same colour as my 2.0 non plod obviously :)
-
Yup, 'Star Silver' I believe they call it...

CD spec so most of the gadgets standard AC but ICE cold so cant complain.
Also now has leather and a fitted rear blind.
-
Only mods to my MV6 are cruise control, blind, and self dipping mirror...
-
Like it i actually asked police wen i got car why does it not have MV6 seats he said they have top of the range model low spec trim >:(

Bummer mate still it can all be added which is part of the fun :)
-
Yeah thats the good thing i like doin all the bits like that whats your 1994 like?
-
Yeah, the police tend to have lower spec... ...so standard seats, usually no alloys, no climate (prefacelift), windy back windows etc.
Prefacelift MV6 is CDX spec without the cruise control.

-
i'd like a plod one for a while to have a bit of fun in! :D
There is a really nice 3.2 facelift estate x-plod on eBay that the moment
-
The facelift plodmobiles do seem to be better spec'd than the prefacelift :)
-
Yeah i've seen it the auto 1? someone said the manual MV6's are quicker than the auto 3.2's :question
i like my facelift x-plod though ;D
-
manual is always going to have the edge on a bigger engined Auto, found that with my manual 2.2 vs 2.5v6 (then again was a very old v6)
Facelift plod will be a lot better spec cause Climate was standard on them.... later plod facelifts have cdx alloys...
-
Yes i like them alloys im looking for them or the vaux omega elite alloys wish i could find some that were cheap
-
My white estate is an ex-plod....auto :-[
Goes well though and I am slowly adding bits to it....bodging buggers though the Police mechanics...
-
Yeah they are is yours facelift?
-
Its a 98 mini facelift......now with an electric rear window, some interior changes to make, a stereo, new roof liner, and now.......

mrs laidback66 is an omega owner as well, so probably understands....
-
lucky 4 him my wife is an astra owner >:(
-
I was looking to buy one at the auctions but was warned off by a neighbour, a meega owner and retired copper. He told me that it is common for minor damage caused by curbs collisions etc, to be fixed privately rather than declare it.

I must admit I have heard a story thats rather off putting, if true when/if you go for one that says it has 100k chances are it will possibly have done tripple that as the police are known to leave the engine constantly running.
May not show up on the dash but I wouldn't be so keen.
Just my tuppence worth :)

A lot of engine wear occurs on starting so you should be OK!! ;) ;D

Correct, in the main.
At the scene of an accident, if you switch off the engine with the blues and rear reds still on, radio and all the other kit that takes power (two video camera's, video or hard drive video recorder, additional computer for ANPR, VASCAR kit, tracker etc etc) its a ginourmous drain on the electrics, despite an uprated alternator and normally being fitted with two batteries with split charging......
Also, if at the side of the road watching the world go by and you decide to get into traffic quickly to stop someone, time is lost in cranking it over getting it started. Split seconds, I know, but sometimes traffic gaps are quite short as well. And it might not want to start clean......
