The REAL Black Beastie would've jumped the ramp & outrun the "bomb".

You'd have thought that someone would have foreseen that happening, the BMW in front only just cleared, a stretched Caddy was never going to clear the ramp. ;D ;D ;D
-
I bet he gave a few black looks ::) ;D

massively expensive, over armoured, cumbersome, slow, inefficient and takes no account of locality.........bit like the US foreign policy ;D

I'm surprised that the car doesn't have inbuilt suspension lifts to overcome that exact problem.
I'd suspect that the internal ramifications within the Security Services responsible for the forward planning of the trip for such a blunder would be far reaching .
However , It's good to see my car is not the only one to get fukced by the Irish roads ........ :)

It's built to withstand direct missile assault, chemical and biological weapons (with a self contained oxygen system), buried explosive devices.. everything, really (apart from, it seems, a sloping driveway).

Two things come to mind:
1) Either it's rather huge or he employs oompa-loompas to provide his security.
2) It's definitely American. You can just see the incredibly advanced suspension components leaf springs forward of the rear wheel. :o
-
The fella at the back doesn't look like an oompa - loompa to me :o
You're right, it's rather huge :o
-
so how did they sort it?

I heard on Radio Eireann they got a commercial breakdown wagon to lift it off but haven't seen any footage of the rescue.... ::)
PS I love the Halfords hub caps on the last photo......

No, because they drove a rather great big van in front of it and surrounded the area ::)

Our trucks at work use Goodyear RHS tyres, they look like they are off a 7.5 tonner.....

I saw a picture of that somewhere .. can't remember where (an online news site, anyway) but there was nothing spectacular to see save a big commercial recovery truck putting dollies under the front tyres..
