Im about to install a 120gb ssd in my laptop and seeing my laptop can take 2 Hdd's ill use the normal 500gb hdd for storage etc as my new ssd is only 120gb.
I'll boot off the ssd for speed and only put stuff i use a lot on it , so
Itunes , i understand when i format the pc then install itunes i belive it will wipe my iphone ? Is this correct and is there any way i can keep my apps ?
Not fussy about the music and photos as i can put them back on myself but what happens to my paid for apps ?
Thanks

The apps are tied to your iTunes account, so as long as you use the same iTunes account, you're fine...

So when I connect to the newly installed iTunes with my account will it down load all my apps again or will I need to try and remember which ones I have and do it manually ?

It'll probably try to grab it from the phone, but remember, this is Apple, so all bets are off ;D. gayTunes is a law unto itself, and is not unknown for it to decide to delete everything for no reason.
*BUT* the purchases are tied to your iTunes account, so you can always 'buy' then for free again from that same account.

This is ridiculous :-/
This stupid gayphone is really the only thing stopping me throwing in my new super fast ssd.
I'm scared I'll loose everything from it and be left with no contacts or anything.
I've looked for days now for an answer to this
There has to be aprogram somewhere to do this on the fly :(

There are apps that will let the PC treat the iPhone as nothing more than another disk drive, but none of them are free.
When you do fit your SSD, make sure that AHCI is enabled in the BIOS otherwise things like TRIM won't work.
Also disable Prefetch and do NOT defragment the SSD.
PS
Just had a thought, there is nothing to stop you using Ghost to clone your HDD over to the SSD, all you'll have to do afterwards is fix the BCD.

Apps yes, songs you have purchased directly off itunes on to your iphone no. To keep them you must backup the Iphone by connecting it to it's itunes account on a PC, then backup ALL the music files on to a medium etc.
A friend of mine was caught out by this and because she not backed them up she lost about £60 worth of music.

You should use a gramophone like I do.
