Good to see that parliament is debating the proposed changes to womens pension age by raising them to equal men. I hope some form of common sense prevails, e.g. stgaed over a longer time.
Yes there has to be change but everything seems to be precipitous. Apparently it will save £10 billion so more money for madcap spending
Of course only about 330,000 people are "affected" and they are only women to boot so its Ok to cheat them at a late stage out of what they expected for all of their lifetime of work.
Only principally affects women aged 55 and 56. :(

That's all very well, Varche, but Africa needs that £10 billion.

On the other hand...........women wanted equality. There are plusses and minuses to that. Its a two way street.
Women live longer than men, so maybe men should retire younger than women. :)

Totally agree on that one!
They want equal pay with an equal job and they want it now, fair enough, but when you expect them to work to the same age for retiring - wow - totally different ball game!
