Wouldnt it be nice. :)

If I had all the money in the world I wouldn't buy a house in central London, but that's just me. :-/
-
I might have one there just for occasional use. Wouldnt want to live there full time. ;)

Ditto Kevin, you'd never get me living in London.....EVER!
Nice for the occassional visit or night out, but thats it, but thats IMO. ::)

if people there, dont scratch the cars , I wouldnt say no ;D
-
the downside is tho, all your neighbours are a bunch of "merchant bankers" :(

Your living in the 80,s. Your neighbours are much more likely to be Chinese or Russian billionares. ;) ::)

On second thoughts, they'd really appreciate someone tinkering with an endless stream of Omegas on their driveway. [smiley=evil.gif] Perhaps it's a possibility after all. ;D

Yes kevin, & perhaps that Russian chappie next door would let you use his underground tennis court for the odd cambelt meet? & the swimming pool would be ideal for scrubbing all the accumulated crap off all our your alloys too! :D ;D ;)

Better than the 70's Albs ;D
Nope, no desire to live in London what so ever. In fact its at the bottom of the list.

I moved to London, but it was a sacrifice that needed to be made.
Plus Points:
Free Commute to work either cycle or freebie staff shuttle bus
10 minutes walk to either Central Line, Piccadilly Line, OverGround, or 1 min walk to main line
5 Years time station near me is on Cross Rail, 11 minutes to Tottenham Court Route (compared to 25 now)
15 mins on train to Richmond
Within 2 minute walk I have, near me: Co-Op, Chinese Takeway, Pizza Takeaway, Chicken Takeaway, Burger Takeaway, Off License, Pound shop, Hair dressers, Post Office, Petrol Station.
Can't get that in the back at my parents, need to drive to get any of that ;D
Night Bus back home, so when a little tipsy at 4am, I can still get home ::)
Get pi$$ed on a work function, then just walk home :y
Bad Points
Noise, its very clear when I get home, its silent, here birds tweeting.
Space, what I paid for my 1bed flat, could have got me a 3 bed house back home :(
No Garage, miss tinkering with the 2.2 or the bike :(
But still needs must, waiting for Cross Rail (due in 2016) for prices to increase, make a good amount, and hopefully buy a big house in the country :D
Still views make up for lack of country-ness :)

I still like London - in small doses. It can be a great place, if your not short of money. I wouldnt ever want to live there full time though.

London property prices are very high. It would not surprise me if Mr Tunnie's shag pad is worth twice what he paid for it five years from now.

Think that's going to be pushing it, but CrossRail means Canary Wharf in 20 mins, which I think will really help prices.

Kensington Palace Gardens - keep it!! Worked in a few of the "palaces" in that road. In 1995, we managed to upset Roman Abramovich who owned a £7m (price at the time) appartment. He was about 28-30 at the time, scruffy trainers jeans etc with a pipe smoking Yanky lawyer.. and 2 big body guards. Got very, very Mafia style upset that a loose Neutral in the BMS panel had zapped his sat link to Trump Tower, Moscow and Monte Carlo. Another flat owner was the ex Lada boss who they tried to blow up ?? Was also in the car park under these apartments when the Israeli, Iraqi or whatever embassy was blown up next door....took off all the car park fire doors and put me on my arse.
Wouldn't catch me living there.

someone has just paid £200,000 for a 90 year lease on a parking space there. They still have to pay 90p per hour to park in it though. ::)

have to agree with most of you , London is fine as a place to visit but can think of far nicer places to live if I had the pennies. Besides, when you live 100yds from the sea for so long you get to miss it when youre away. Maybe its me just getting older but I think Id prefer home to be in more tranquil surroundings these days ;D
