Title: Level 2 heat alert
Post by: Varche on 25 June 2011, 14:36:00
Watch out folks. It is going to be hot tomorrow. Government guidelines for combatting the effects of temps as high as 29 DegC? Drink more water and stay indoors with a window open. ;D ;D ;D

Couldn't see any suggestions for cold lager or BBQ  :y

I despair of this country, I really do. >:(

Doing all the local hills around me with some friends, bit of preparation for the coast to coast we'll be doing in 2 months time.

I have a camelback with a 3L bladder so I should be sorted.  :y

Well, I guess I'd better enjoy the weather while it's here. They are forecasting some pretty violent thunderstorms down here tomorrow evening as the meteorological conditions will be just right for them. Met Office has already warned of possible flash flooding. :o :o

:o Then what the heck are the BBC weather dept. playing at?......

::) No 'warning' of impending-drownings or cautioning the unwary against the imminent-danger of death by hail-stoning or electrocution from lightning!
Have they no sense of public responsibility?!?!?:P

28-29C here today and I spent the day moving 2.4x1.2m sheets of 12mm ply around, cutting them, notching them and panelling the garage out.. then pulling them all down, putting the rockwool (itchy itchy) insulation up and piling the panels ready for the electrician to come tomorrow..

The garage was like an oven, must have drunk two or three litres of water and didn't go for a pee once.. and I look sunburnt, apparently through the roof lights  :-/

I hate hot weather. Give me a nice tepid 18C all year round and I'd be a happy man..

Urban myth! Round here they start before dawnbreak pack up at about 2, lunch then siesta and then restart about 5.30 till dark. then evening meal and sitting about till 1 or 2. They actually work longer hours than North Europeans but maybe less effectively. ::) ::)

At the moment it's a "Be aware" warning.

No doubt this will shortly be uprated accroding to the following scale:

"Be very aware"
"Be alarmed"
"Feel abject terror"
and finally "Run for the hills".

 ;) ;D ;D

but whilst running for the hills, do it in a calm mannor, take plenty of water, leave windows open for dogs and tie children to the roof (its cooler at speeds) call the emergancy helpline if you fall over.
