Just saw this on the News.No wonder the country is in such a mess, if this is the type of cretin we have to ensure adherence to the law (not to mention common sense and compassion) is uppermost in folks minds. >:( >:( >:(

rather idiots, in the heat last year i sat nr a car with all windows shut and two dogs in for 20 mins (car was already there at dog unfriendly beach) hitting 30c, we had to leave so i pulled the front door top open and a shop gave us two bowls of water to put in (friendly dogs luckily) they were tied in so couldnt escape, i left a note.
only reason i want to get my aircon in hermes regassed is to keep it much cooler for my dog.

Sources said an internal inquiry would consider a possible criminal prosecution.

I don't see what's to consider. :-? Somebody was responsible for the dogs. Why hasn't he been prosecuted?

It would seem that the bloke responsible has cracked under the guilt. Its reported that he has been found in east London with injuries to his arms. :-/

How can anyone civilian or serving be so bloody stupid?

OCD? Self harming? my arse. If that's true then they're not medically fit to serve. Conditional discharge? Each time two lives were lost through negligence.

Prison sentence & drummed out of force. These were supposed to be experts to seve ?& protect. They could'nt look after thier dogs who ironically would've laid thier lives down for these so called handlers. >:(

He'll get of with it just as the last winker did. >:(

As far as i am aware a police dog is a member of the force so to kill them surly is a criminal offence,
Put him inside among the criminals he has put there let them deal with it,

Were any of you there ?

Do any of you know the officer concerned and ANY of the circumstances.

Criminal ? Jail sentence ?

Steady folks. Steady.

Nope. Of course not, and I'm fully aware that what emerges from  the media often bears no resemblance to reality.

I just object to language like this being used..

When someone was responsible for leaving those dogs there and we know damn well that if a civilian left his dogs in a car to die there would be nothing to consider and no possible about it. A conviction would be brought.

:o It`s emerged that he`s been previously responsible for the death of another dog in similar circumstances.......and recvd. a subsequent promotion!>:(

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2008691/Sergeant-Ian-Craven-suicide-bid-police-dogs-die-heat-car.html

The 'second chance' he received clearly wasn`t deserved........IMHO: The remorse he showed, arrived far too late yesterday! :'(

Fat lot of good that inquiry did, this one will probably be an equal waste of time & resources.

As a civilian i wonder if you roasted the collies (i know hell would freeze over first) Would you be afforded the privilege of an "inquiry" let alone two?

Think we all know the answer to that one! ::)

As I understand this subject is close to peoples hearts, so we expect a heated discussion.... although I am afraid name calling the Police whatever you think of them is below the belt. We have retired and serving Police on the Forum who take personal offence to such.

Cheers  :y

Refering to Police how you did is not needed. You could however pick different words to perhaps express your opinions.
if you prefer not to post then thats up to you, totally your choice :y

I deleted your earlier posted (which is stored elsewhere fyi) after several complaints.

The 2 rules you broke are :

Excessive use of bad language of any description will not be tolerated, neither will the use of certain words (masked or otherwise) which we hope should be plain and obvious to anyone who can read these guidelines and be intelligent enough to work out what kind of behavior is and isn't allowed.

Members being offensive to other members will not be tolerated. Offensive or abusive public threads or private messages will be looked in to and appropriate action taken by the Moderators.

Hope this clarifies the situation
