1. Download lastest Nokia Anna Software, released last week.
2. Follow the Instructions to the letter using Ovi Suite.
3. Plug in phone and start the update.
4. 4 hours later nothing seems to be happening.
5. Disconnect phone and restart it.
6. Phone restarts with bright white screen and stays like it.
7. Phone can now be used as a LCD Torch.
8. When the battery dies and the torch stops working, because it wont charge and the battery is internal, open the sliding keyboard and place under the door, phone is now used as a door stop.

Looks like your not alone, but that post suggests its bricked for 48 hours then comes alive!? Can't see how that works.
I have the displeasure of several new Nokias kicking around, they are utter crap!

48 hours?, dont think the battery is gonna last that long, because it wont charge.
FFS, Bloody Nokia Muppets!!!

Its a Free Software upgrade Varche, Nokia Anna, thinks it was Nokia's last hope to keep poeple happy and an attempt to stop Nokia fans (of which Im not one) to going across to Android and iphone, before they launch there phones with Windows (another mistake and too late).
-
i installed Anna the other day - no real problems - auto phone lock may pose issues when updating so try with this feature turned off.

Out of intrest, not that Im probably going to know now, is Anna any better.
-
it is much quicker and now working better on bt fon and open zone
-
think I will hold off updating my phone for a bit then
-
I do the updates with phone plugged into power lead - seems to be safest method

Before you do anything, de install Ovi, all of it, rather then letting itself do an update to the latest software which is needed to then update the new Anna via PC.
Then download the latest Ovi ver as a brand new Install.
Ive managed to recover my E7 now, but only after a lot of fuffing around, I did the above and after about 5 Ovi start ups and shut downs with the phone connected it eventually found the phone and restored it to my last back up, phew.
the E7 working as it should now with the old symbian version.
Reading between the lines and having a chat with TS at Vodaphone, it seems thier not totally convinced that the Ovi install works well, (ie must be connected via PC). They did assure me that Anna seemed a good platform upgrade and works well.
Think I be doing the Anna update using only the phone (On Air).
This link may help, if anyone contiplating it.
