Title: UPVC Windows
Post by: Tonka. on 02 September 2011, 18:53:39
Does any one in the Lincoln(shire) area have any mates in the UPVC window game.

I am looking for a better price than the usual suppliers (beer tokens are available for any help)  :y :y :y

When I did mine I had them made locally and fitted them myself. If you know anyone in the production game you can give them an incentive to have them made where they work cos they get a large discount and then simply pay him plus a bit for his efforts and fit them yourself. The fitting is just common sense and I had no problems.

Hi guys. My idea is to have them made and to fit myself. Interestingly, one guy dropped from £1400 to £700 when I applied the thumbscrews. He has since been beaten by a £625 cost. I want to get near £500  :y

Its a 1600 x 2100 french window by the way  :y

I used to be in that business afair while ago,and I think you should really apply the old saying "you get what you pay for ".

Trouble with some products are they are flimsey, porely strengthened and the quality of the glazing rubbers /locks etc are made at a "price".

Not saying you should over pay,but don,t end up with something that is cheap but poor quality as it will almost not be worth the effort fitting it.

that is very cheap indeed, we got charged 1200 for the one we put in a loft conversion  except the width was 1800

Both quotes came from the same company for the same product. Salesman and fitter  ::)
