Title: Wind-powered guillotine?
Post by: Nickbat on 15 September 2011, 18:56:04
With that in mind we are now advising all Proven 35-2 owners to place their wind turbines on brake as soon as it is safe to do so. Under no circumstances should you apply the parking brake whilst the wind turbine is rotating at normal operating speeds since this will place extra stress on the shaft.

After monday and tuesday's gales, I doubt there's many of them left to worry about now.

I drove past the local wind farm overe here last Saturday which was subsidised with considerable public money ( by the Greens in the coalition at the time ) ::).
It was what I'd describe as very windy but not a gale ,perfect generating conditions it seemed to me .

Every one of the 18 turbines were static ....... :o

Seemed a bit illogical , but then again the whole wind technology concept is too.
