Title: Torchwood
Post by: Vamps on 15 September 2011, 22:01:28
10 weeks of utter drivel, used to enjoy this programme, used to be a story every week, this one has been awful. If this is the best the BBC can do then they should have let the series die a natural death..... :( :( :(

A really thought provoking ethical discussion though.  We've debated the what ifs a couple of times whilst watching it.

Sad that the yanks had to spoil a fantastic series.  The last 2 episodes I really enjoyed but the other 8 were tedious! :(

.......still anything with Captain Jack in it is perfectly watchable, whatever the story line! ::)

Why do women find this gay man so attractive? :)

(opti, PLEASE stop using offensive homosexual terms on here, thanks)

Apparently they think they could "turn him". ::)
I find him excrutiatingly irritating, regardless of which side he bats for. Cant bloody stick him. ;)

I've still got to iPlayer the last 2 episodes. It has been dragging on a bit though so may not bother TBH.

I'm also a tad confused as to the "gayness" of the whole thing. Each to their own but isn't this supposed to be a family show despite being on after 21:00?

Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one...............

Like Dr Who, the writers are desperately trying to make it some sort of high art/cult it would seem to me.

DW was good childrens entertainment, now, bolstered by the media driven popularity of the previous doctor, it's a cross between a DW anorak festival and a Pseudo-Kafkaresque/Beckett Edinburgh Festival production.

Torchwood hasn't gone there yet, but it seems to be trying too hard and wants to compete with the US Fallen/Walking Dead type production.

BBC flogging a dead horse syndrome...............

Doctor Who is now brilliant - muh better than it was, Torchwood is going down the toilet.

My children prefer the Moffat Who to RTD Who

I've no urge to ''turn him'' but I'd willingly share! :P :P :P  Be a bit vain to think otherwise! ;)

I have to agree with this, one particular, sexualised, episode was not, in my opinion, suitable for viewing by younger children......I also accept that is is on after 9pm.

Miss Vamps (11 years) likes to watch this and I am happy for her to do so, I was however pleased that we were away at the caravan (Static) when this episode was shown and she was out playing with friends so missed it.

It's definitely gone downhill in the last two seasons (this and the previous 'mini' season) .. though this season has a hot redhead (always a good thing) and, of course, Eve Myles who I would gladly give my left nut for..

Sorry, got to disagree. Best Torchwood ever. The gay scene was necesary to express the depth of feeling (yuk!) and worked very well though ultimately that plot-line was a dead end.
Dr Who is excellent as usual though my favourite remains David Tennant.  :y

I would find it very hard to decide between her and Eve Myles.

I think I'd just have to have both.
