As 70% of the earths surface is covered in water, there is little chance of any of it hitting land. As it could come down, or so they reckon, anywhere between 57S and 57N, which is a very large % of the global surface ... the chances of any bits landing on UK is very small indeed. So the chances of bits hitting you, or someone you know, are vanishingly small.
They do expect to be able to narrow the impact point down from about 12 hours before re-entry...
