Have the insurance renewal coming up soon :'( normaly go with adrian flux, this years premium
£428.00 & thats with a £250.00 excess, 20 years protected no claims + had to tell them of a few mods
on the car.
I have heard that flux are not very good at paying up on claims, so can some of you tell me of any
better company's out there who don't mind a few mods & don't bang on loads for having them.
Out of curiosity, what do you guys pay for your insurance and whos is it with?
:y

'bout £380 with norwich union. fully comp with 5+ ncd. Also with a named learner on the policy.
Worth shopping around as lots of the well known companies would not touch me with the learner on the policy.
-
£341 for an unmodified mv6 estate with direct line, 200 excess
age 30 with 7 years ncb
£334 for a 2.2 cdx saloon, about the same everything else for the wife
-
£250 ish for the MV6, no mods. Lots of NCD, £250 voluntary excess (+£100 compulsary). With Admiral, heard good and bad about them a claim time. Only personal dealings with there claims was when someone hit the Rover, and no complaints from me.

try hyperfomance insurance, i'll give you the number i have, they insured my corsa with mods, 0208 939 3940 I dont know whether it will work out cheaper, and as for difficulty with claims, i havent made one yet (touch wood) so i wouldn't know! i'll mention that my insurance isnt dirt cheap, but i have NO no claims because of an accident 18 months ago (different insurer), and i also have business use
-
I dont know what model you have steve but...
I pay £380 for 3.0 mv6 - 3years ncb.
I pay £240 for 2.5 cd estate - on 0 years ncb.
Both have £200 excess and mv6 with Admiral, the CD is with Elephant.co.uk
Hope this helps ( i think your paying way too much :-/)

Im with Bell Insurance, I have a 2.0 16v Omega, Its £185.00 with 4 years ncd. £100 xs, had a new windscreen out of em, no cost, that was nice. Get a courtesy car too, if in accident.
I got it from www.moneysupermarket.com
-
Try ftp://www.confused.com
I'm with Saga (that shows my age) they wanted about £470 for my 3.0lt Elite and would match any other lower price, got a quote with Admiral for about £250 and they matched it. When i changed my car to a 3.2 Estate they reverted back to the original quote and charged me an extra £110.. I'll be shopping around again come renewal time.

£240 with NO no claims??? that's sooo not fair!
I just paid £415 fully comp to Norwich union for my 2.5 elite - 9yrs prot NCD but two claims in last 4 years, £120 xs and enhanced courtesy car (try telling them what use a Ka is when you had an omega! - i upgraded to an Astra on my last claim it cost £120!) Apart from that NU were decent on the claim side. Occasional annoying calls to india tho'!
only mod is exhaust/filter and they didn't like it online, but on the phone said no worries and no extra!
asked for a quote for a second car, so zero no claims, a rover 214 worth £200, 3rd party best price was £450!
guess it's the high risk birmingham having something to do with it.
oh and sticking my partner on reduced premiums by 20% normally :)
-
Ok mines a diesel and not modified, I pay £218 with LV=Frizzell. Saved £88 by switching from Direct line. 75% NCD, protected NCD no matter how many claims, courtesy car, and £300 excess.

It all depends where you live
2.2 cdx, 9+years ncd, fully comp +business use, self wife and son on policy
Renewal notice was for £650 so used confused.com and got same cover for :y £500 :y
!!!!!!!!!Oh to live in the country!!!!!!!
-
work in London & insured for business use so don't ask :'(
-
i pay £295 for a 2.5 facelifted elite.
I have 100's of years worth of no claims ;D £100 excess, protected NCB, and they cover my ipod kit if anything happens to that.
Privilige insurace that is with
My postcode is pretty low risk so that could have an impact
-
I've received my renewal notice today from insure....£604!!!!!
So it was with interest that I read what hte rest of you pay.
A quick visit to admiral and....wait for it £250!! 11 years protected and £150 vol excess 2001 cdx auto
The words Bobbing Rastards spring to mind. How can they justify trying to charge nearly 350 quid more for the same cover....and their customer service was shocking
-
23 years old 2 years ncd clean liscense for 6 years wait for it ...... £1200 tpft for my 2.5 v6 omega can get it for £600 through confused but half way through policy dont fancy losing my 6 mths claim free ive already got ! so stick it out untill ive another years no claims then go elsewhere- incidently the policy started with my k plate 2.0 sri cavvy at 700 quid then went through roof when changed to a 1.8 vectra "R" reg then when changed to omega its only £19.00 per mth more than the vectra
definatly worth a shop around
mot due end of next mth too
-
Thanks for the replys lads :) will defineatly be ringing around for a few quote's :y
-
I used to stay with one company for car insurance, not anymore. As someone else put it some of them are right robbing @@++++ Now I always get alternative quotes, but make sure it's for a like for like cover. Would you believe this year alone I have saved myself almost £300 for switching car, building and home contents insurance cover.

Hi,
I got a quote from Elephant.co.uk for my 3.0L Elite, £268 F/C inc. protected no claims, courtesy car and with a £250 excess.
I then tried the RAC who for the same quote but with a £520 excess wanted £454!!!
How can they justify such a difference >:(.

I have found Tesco insurance to be very good when you have more than one car in the family. You get a 2 car discount and a named driver discount. Good choices on levels of cover, good British based customer services.
I pay monthly so not sure of annual amount. Wifes nissan micra £14 p/months 1year ncd. My 2.5v6 £26 p/month 0 ncd
We get discount for 2nd car and discount as I am named driver on wifes policy.
Dont know about claims.
-
Just to add an annoyance of mine.
Car: £26 p/month insurance. Value £450 Excess £475 (This insurance is Compulsory and heavy punishment for not having it)
House: £6 p/month insurance Amount covered £20,000 Excess £50 (This insurance is Optional)
I spend more time in the house than the car. My car is locked in the garage, my house isn't. My wife never cooks in the car so that is the fire risk reduced by 90%.
How is this justified? £20000 cover for £6 p/month and -£25 cover for £26p/month.
